Traveller’s Dilemma: Choosing a Destination For Your Next Experience
Let’s pose a situation…
You’ve finally saved up enough holiday days from work, the cash has been stashed, and it’s time to go away!
Unfortunately, you were so busy fantasizing about getting there that you forgot to figure out where ‘there’ is!
Fortunately for you, I have been doing too much of the opposite, which has left me with some suggestions that just might help! Here are some destinations you really need to see!
Looking for an Island Paradise?
There is nothing quite like banishing yourself for a week or two to an island getaway. There are so many great options for this kind of holiday, there are the Grecian islands, there are small countries like Fiji, and there are places in Asia’s South East like Phuket.
Phuket is Thailand’s south island and is just beautiful and temperate for most of the year. It is one of Asia’s most popular beach destinations, but in addition, Phuket also has a gorgeous rainforest, with several parts of it that you can row through. Visiting all of Phuket’s tour destinations with Travezl is a big ask, because there are so many things to see, but it is well worth putting in the time.
There is the Big Buddha, which stands an awe-inspiring 45 meters tall! Phuket Fantasea is another place you should definitely check out. It’s a huge adventure park, where there are plenty of shops and fair game but the biggest draw is the actors, dancers, and acrobats that perform with elephants! If you like a good show you should also go and see the beautiful dancers that perform in the Simon Cabaret!
Art History, More Your Speed?
Europe may be more your speed if you are into architecture or art and history. So here are my top three must-see spots in Europe:
Paris is a pretty cliche holiday destination, but not without good reason. Paris is THE place to go for art and architecture, with notable places such as the Arc De Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, and Notre Dam Cathedral to name a few.
What could be more breathtaking and charming than visiting Paris in the summer, and visiting all of these icons whose grandeur can only be imagined? Sure you’ve seen pictures, but they say in real life that the Mona Lisa just glows and that Da Vinci’s other works are truly genius. The food is as rich as the scenery, so if you are a fan of sweets that might just be enough of a reason for a visit in the first place!
Rome is another place that has unparalleled history and beauty. The streets are just littered with statues and fountains, and while there you can visit legendary places like the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain. Much like Paris, aside from its beauty and art, there is also the welcome addition of wonderful cuisine. I mean, who among us doesn’t live for Italian food?
Prague I thought I should include it because, unlike the other destinations I have mentioned, it is often overlooked when planning a European holiday. Prague is one of the cheaper places to go in Europe, but that’s not why it made my list, it made my list because of just how shockingly picturesque it is. The bridges and gothic architecture just make you want to get lost or paint, and the local's love of music is just so easy to get swept up in! Do yourself a favor and google some images right now, it was hard to pull myself away to write this article!
Of course, this is not a very long list and I have only covered a few places but the world is huge and I, like many just want to see it all for myself so when I start researching for a piece like this I end up with far too much to say and very little time to say it! I can only hope this helped, rather than adding a couple of new places to the list and therefore making your decision even more confusing.
Good luck and enjoy!
